The 69th EICMA was an outstanding success and attracted more visitors than the last years. It now closes with numbers of great importance : over 58,000 square meters of exhibition surface; 1,462 hosted brands representing 43 foreign countries; 7 pavilions with many new products and previews from the motorcycle industry; more than 500,000 visitors in 4 days, with a significant number of foreigners coming from the five continents. Considerable interest has been shown for "Motolive", the 80,000 square meters outdoor area; The Green Planet, the area devoted to sustainable mobility and electric and hybrid vehicles; and EICMA Custom, dedicated to all custom fans and lovers, some of them coming from overseas. "I am extremely satisfied for the results we obtained, especially in light of the current market downturn and the particular politic situation" said Corrado Capelli, President of Confindustria ANCMA and EICMA. "Companies have proved to be enthusiastically willing to react to the crisis and plan investments, ideas, projects and brave initiatives in order to move on and give start to an industry revival. I hope that EICMA 2011 represents the first step of a path which may help the whole sector regain the figures and the attention it deserves". "EICMA 2011 has marked a moment of great cohesion between the members of Confindustria ANCMA and the new working team, who proved to be cohesive and ready to tackle the challenges which await us in the future. We are already organizing the next event through a series of initiatives and projects capable of expressing the needs and will of the whole sector. A special thank to all fans who, despite the bad weather conditions striking our country and the difficult economic situation, have participated with great warmth to the Event" said Pier Francesco Caliari, General Director of EICMA and Confindustria Ancma. EICMA is already at work to attain the ambitious goal it has set for itself for 2012, i.e., to offer the motorcycle industry a showcase of ever greater significance at worldwide level, making the Milan International Motorcycle Show into a rendezvous that all 2-wheel vehicle devotees and operators, both inside and outside the Rho-Pero fair, look to as an irresplaceable benchmark. |
